| I have to tell you the funniest thing that happened Monday night. Mama Debbie and I got together to pray for our families. We met at the Harrisonville Mennonite Church. They have a prayer room that is open 24/7 w/ a lockbox on the door. After prayer time we had some trouble getting the door to lock. Sometimes it is difficult (or we might just be challenged!) Anyway, after about 5 minutes of goofing with the door we finally got it. We went down the steps and on the way out to our cars one of Harrisonville's finest shows up. The officer did not just pull into the parking lot. He spend in pretty fast, stopped, jumped out and asked us what we were doing. (It was about 10:00) Before we could respond he told us that a neighbor had reported a burglary in process at the church. In my infinite wisdom I said "as far as I know we are the only ones here, we haven't seen anybody" He puts his hand on his revolver and I innocently continue "we have been here in the prayer room, it is open 24/7 and we have the combination - so its OK". He looked at us suspiciously and then said, a prayer room? 24 hours? Oh? His suspicion turned to disbelief. By now he thinks we are some kind of looney tunes. As we are talking another police car does a Hawaii Five O type entrance and slams on the brakes as he skids sideways into the parking lot. We remain calm and continue talking to the nice officer. A minute later we are aware of another police car blocking the far entrance to the parking lot - he turns his spotlight on. By now, the first officer has decided we are harmless (Bibles in hand -might have been a clue) Mama D. and I start for our cars and tell him to have a nice evening - he walked around the side of the building and reported in. I think they were all disappointed that the only burglars were a couple of crazy ladies that came to pray. As we parted Mama D said - "wow, there must not be much going on in town tonight!" We both agreed that our children would be proud of us -it took three cop cars! We casually hopped in our cars and headed for home. Don't mess with the mamas. LOL!!!!

But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, Though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler of Israel, Whose going forth are from of old, From everlasting. Therefore He shall give them up, Until the time that she who is in labor has given birth Then the remnant of His brethren Shall return to the children of Israel And He shall stand and feed His flock In the strength of the Lord In the majesty of the name of the Lord His God. And they shall abide, For now He shall be great To the ends of the earth And this One shall be peace. Wishing all my xanga friends and family the best of this season! | |
